Teaching
When Jesus Christ was tempted by the devil, he responded with important words: “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Matt. 4:4, quoting from Deut. 6:13). It is the preaching, teaching, and application of God’s Word in our minds and hearts that brings hope and direction to our daily lives.
Our church is grateful for the teachers the Lord has given to us, ever since our founding (link to “our history” page?). In order that God’s holy Word may do its work within us, we aim to attend upon the teaching of it “with diligence, preparation, and prayer” and then “receive it with faith and love, lay it up in our hearts, and practice it in our lives” (Westminster Shorter Catechism 90).
